Meet Our Staff
Henry H. Herring, R.Ph.
Henry is Medical Center Pharmacy's President and founder. He received his BA in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill and his BS in Pharmacy from Samford University. Henry is married to his lovely wife Myra of 33 years, with three children, Forbes, Katherine and Sarah. When Henry is not suited up in his bow-tie at the pharmacy, he is at home cheering on the Tar Heels and spending time with his two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Ladd and Louie. Henry founded Medical Center Pharmacy in 1990.
Matt Lopatka, PharmD
Matt Lopatka received his BS in Chemistry from Wake Forest University and his PharmD from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. You may have seen Matt on the football field as a kicker during his time at Wake Forest. Dr. Lopatka practiced community pharmacy in Kernersville, NC before returning to his home town of Wilmington in 2011 when he joined Medical Center Pharmacy. When Matt is not filling prescriptions you can find him and his twin brother on the golf course. He and his wife Denise, also a Wilmington native, welcomed their first child, Georgia in July of 2013 and their son, Matthew Jr. in July of 2015. Dr. Lopatka is a Junior Partner at Medical Center Pharmacy.
Patrick McNeely, PharmD
Patrick joined Medical Center Pharmacy in April and came to us from New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he worked as a Clinical Discharge Pharmacist and Outpatient Pharmacist for three years. Patrick's experience in long term care pharmacy and specialized independent pharmacies will be a great addition to our team. Patrick graduated Cum Laude from NC State where he also played football. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Campbell University. Patrick and his wife Mandy are busy raising 2 children, Graham, 5 and Ava, 8.
Heather Barcus, PharmD
Originally from Columbia, Heather graduated from the University of South Carolina with a doctorate of pharmacy before beginning her career in Wilmington. She has worked in community pharmacy for 9 years, growing a passion for personalized patient care. When she's not in the pharmacy you can find her with her husband, Matt, and their son, Levi cheering on the Gamecocks or exploring Wilmington.
Director of Pharmacy Education
As the Director of Pharmacy Education, Angie is responsible for educating physicians and patients on the benefits of prescription compounding. Angie was born and raised in Durham, NC and graduated from UNC Wilmington where she received a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Angie joined Medical Center Compounding Pharmacy in 2009.
